The 30 nominees for the highly anticipated annual Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards have just been announced.

And to celebrate the wealth of talent on the restaurant scene, Eat Out will reveal the Top 10 restaurants in the country at the foodie event of the year which will take place at GrandWest in Cape Town on Sunday 17 November 2019. Yes, the annual Eat Out Restaurant Awards celebrate the South African restaurant industry with accolades including the Top 10 Restaurants, Chef of the Year, Restaurant of the Year and Service Excellence.

Looking back: South Africa’s best restaurants

Wolfgat actually won big at the World Restaurant Awards in Paris earlier this year. Wolfgat is situated two hours north of Cape Town in the small seaside hamlet of Paternoster, and attracts tourists and locals alike for its daring combinations and ground-breaking take on the fine-dining scene. Visitors are blessed with views of golden sands and a calm, rippling Atlantic Ocean – this is an eatery that blesses all the senses.

In July, La Colombe and The Test Kitchen made it onto ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ list.

It was the fifth time that The Test Kitchen in Cape Town run by Chef Luke Dale-Roberts made it into the top 50. The restaurant came in at number 44 while La Colombe situated in Cape Town came in at number 114. The two restaurants also made Eat Out’s best in SA list in 2018.
