1. EXERCISE REGULARLY

People who stay active and engage in physical exercise are less likely to experience back pain. A recent analysis of 25 studies discovered that the best way to prevent recurring lower back pain is by regularly exercising, preferably along with some form of physical education.

2. TAKE A HOT BATH

Taking a warm bath can be helpful in relieving muscle spasms and tight muscles while also improving blood circulation. It’s important to ensure that the water temperature is comfortably warm and not too hot. According to the Arthritis Foundation, the recommended temperature range is 92-100 degrees. It is advisable to limit the bath time to around 15-20 minutes and exit the tub before the water cools down too much.

3. GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Studies have shown one among the three adults does not get enough sleep something which may affect the body’s fitness, failure to get enough sleep can mean that your muscles don’t have sufficient time to recover from the day’s activities.

Reducing the consumption of processed foods, sugary snacks, and beverages can be beneficial as they may contribute to inflammation and exacerbate pain.

5. QUIT SMOKING

Smoking not only harms your lungs but can also negatively affect your back. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Smoking reduces blood flow to the lower spine and leads to degeneration of the spinal discs. Research indicates that individuals who smoke are more prone to experiencing back pain compared to those who do not smoke.

Moreover, the study shows that an estimated 14% of Americans are current smokers, and therefore at risk for a number of smoking-related conditions. Low back pain is one such condition that has a strong association with smoking.
