It is a well-known fact that people who are considered “attractive” often get along easier in life. Whether it’s better treatment from people or unnecessary fame – beautiful people certainly do reap the benefits of their good looks. A study has now found that the same attractive people may even have better and stronger immune systems.

Do you have blue eyes, silky soft hair, and a strong jawline? Then you may also have a stronger and more effective immune system.

Experts recently found a way to determine that people who have traits that are considered attractive in modern-day society have more effective ‘natural killer’ cells which can destroy virus-infected cells in the body, Daily Mail reports.

Scientists were able to determine this by photographing 152 adults and then asking 492 people in an online survey to rate their level of attractiveness.

They then found that men who were rated attractive by women had a stronger immune system compared to the men who weren’t rated attractive.

How the human brain plays a role

Researchers have stated that the findings may suggest that human brains are naturally wired to find healthier partners.

According to Summer Mengelkoch from the Texas Christian University, says that people who go out and choose attractive partners are not as shallow as people make them out to be because finding someone with good looks is a “natural instinct”.

“People who go out to a bar looking to talk to someone attractive are often dismissed as being shallow and told, ‘It is not all about looks’.

But they are really just following their instincts to find a high-quality mate,” she said in a study that was published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
