Ingredients

  • 4 cups 4 cake flour

  • 2 teaspoons 2 sugar

  • 1 sachet instant yeast

  • 1 teaspoon 1 salt

  • 500 ml 500 luke-warm water

  • vegetable/olive oil (to line the enamel/ stainless steel bowl)

Method

  • Mix all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  •  Add warm water once thorough mixing has been done.
  • Massage until you get an elastic like bread dough.
  • Leave dough to rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place (cover with a clean cloth) so it can rise.
  • After 30 or so minutes it should have doubled in size.
  • Knead dough a few more times, approximately for a minute.
  • Rub the stainless steel dish that you will be using with the cooking oil and put the dough into the dish.
  • Put boiling water into a pot – then place the dish with the dough in the pot with boiling water to steam for around 30 minutes.
  • Cool down before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with: stews, soups or tinned fish.
