If you’re trying to lose some weight or if you’re just living that healthy lifestyle, it can be tough to find easy recipes and snacks. Our spicy chickpea chips are the roasted goodies that will make you feel better. Not only are they delicious, chickpeas are packed with protein and fibre. They’re perfectly vegan-and vegetarian-friendly.

Spicy chickpea chips tips

You can either drain and lightly roast or pan fry the chickpeas yourself or get some ready-made, but those can have added salt which you don’t need. Cayenne pepper, turmeric, coriander and paprika add some spice to the party which makes chickpeas taste even better. Each serving is 427 calories and you can just graze on them during the day. They are full of healthy fats, protein and fibre.

Ingredients

  • 1 can 1 Roasted tinned chickpeas

  • 1 tsp 1 Cayenne pepper

  • 1 pinch 1 Salt

  • 1 pinch 1 Pepper

  • 1 tsp 1 Dried coriander

  • 1 tsp 1 Paprika powder

  • 1 tsp 1 Turmeric

  • 1 tbsp 1 Extra virgin olive oil

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Drain the chickpeas until fully strained.
  • Place the chickpeas into a medium bowl, add the herbs, spices and olive oil.
  • Once fully mixed through, place onto a baking tray that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Place into the oven until golden brown/crunchy.
  • Serve cold.
