Many of us have had more fun with dough, especially with homemade pizza. However, pizza dough often needs a day’s rest to be ready but you can still have great pizza tonight. This quick and easy pizza dough only takes three ingredients to make without much rest time. You can just enjoy it as a flatbread with butter and herbs or make a fully-loaded pizza with all of your favourite ingredients. It’s also a great recipe for parties as you can keep making dough as you serve the rest.

Quick and easy pizza dough suggestions

This dough is more like a bready texture instead of thin crust pizza, but it is great for absorbing pizza sauce and loading with lots of ingredients. If you have guests coming over, have some toppings ready. Some popular proteins always go well, like bacon, chicken strips and salami. Have some sliced vegetables like onions, peppers and a bit of mushrooms will go a long way too, but never forget about the cheese. Before serving, sprinkle with olive oil and parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 self-raising flour (or 1 cup plain flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder)

  • 1 cup 1 unsweetened yoghurt

  • oregano or other dried herbs

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more flour and if it’s too dry add a little more yoghurt.
  • Bring the ingredients together in a ball when it is the right dough consistency.
  • Turn out onto a surface sprinkled with flour so the dough doesn’t stick. Knead the dough for about 6 – 8 minutes. Gather into a ball and roll out into a pizza shape.
  • Add tomato sauce, and your favourite toppings as you would on a homemade pizza.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes and voila!
