The festive season is in full-swing and it’s time for cocktails with friends over the weekend and holidays. With the summer heat bearing down, you want to be cooled and refreshed but still enjoy a drink to keep the festivities going. A popular drink that also looks fun as it’s often served in a copper mug, is a Moscow mule. However, if whiskey is your preferred drink, you might prefer the Irish Mule, made with Irish whiskey. The cocktail is usually made with the preferred alcohol added to a mixer and ice with a garnish.

Not all whiskey holds up to ice as it thins out the flavours but often bourbon works best with its richer notes. This cocktail uses Peaky Blinders Irish Whiskey which is a blend of grain and single malt Irish whiskey that has been aged in bourbon casks. This means that the fruity nose of apricots and orange peel, a touch of sweet vanilla and honey on the palate and finished with a hint of chocolate and cinnamon will still be available. It also pairs perfectly well with ginger beer as your mixer.
