Prepare these delicious Hungarian tartlets as a delicious sticky snack after dinner time. These square tartlets are sweet, satisfying and simply mouth-watering.

Basically, you prepare a simple dough and spread it into a greased pan. Next, add jam all over the dough and grate more dough over the smeared jam. A clever tip is to always double the ingredients besides the jam as a base for the oven tray. You can then use the extra dough to grate over the jam.

Next, pop your treat-in-the-making into the oven for about 30 to 40 minutes. Keep a watchful eye and remove the Hungarian tartlets when risen and light brown in colour. Dust with icing sugar when it comes steaming hot from the oven.

Allow to cool and cut into squares to create cute little Hungarian tartlets. These sweet and sticky bites are delicious after a savoury meal. But of course, you will be tempted to enjoy them over teatime and as a midnight snack as well!
