Rice is a staple all over the world. However, this homemade fried rice recipe transforms otherwise ordinary rice into a real delicacy. It’s actually quite addictive.  

With the perfect balance of veggies, soy sauce and spring onions, this homemade fried rice dish comes to life on your palate. Lastly, remember to add a beaten egg to the mix and you have one amazing side dish on its way to the table.

Prepare this fried rice recipe once and it will become a frequent menu request from your family. Luckily it takes only about 25 minutes to prepare if you have some cooked rice ready.

Ingredients

  • 224 g 224 rice (cooked)

  • 20 ml 20 oil

  • 12 g 12 spring onion

  • 55 g 55 vegetables

  • 1 1 egg

  • 10 ml 10 soya sauce

Method

  • Break up the cooked rice to remove all lumps.
  • Divide the rice and other ingredients into two or more batches, depending on the size of the pan or wok.
  • Heat a small amount of oil, add the spring onions, and fry until almost done.
  • Add any raw vegetables and mix in.
  • Add the rice, stir-fry until it is hot, and lightly coat with oil.
  • Add any cooked vegetables and mix in.
  • Add soy sauce, if used, and salt.
  • Add beaten egg and mix in, stir-fry lightly to cook the egg, and then serve.
