If you follow a strict diet or just want to eat better, you know how hard it can be to stay dedicated and out of the fridge. It can be hard to find sweet treats that are as tasty as they are healthy. Our healthy banana and almond sticks are the quick and easy frozen treats you’ve been looking for. They are great for those evening sweet cravings and are also great party snacks.

Making healthy banana and almond sticks

You’ll be toasting some walnuts with honey like granola to add to the sticks. You can of course get creative and use any nut and seed combinations that you want to. Warm up the almond butter a bit so that the banana sticks are coated more easily. Each serving of this great frozen treat is only 318 calories and you don’t need to eat all of them at once.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium 1 banana, chopped in half

  • 2 tbsp 2 sugar-free cocoa almond butter

  • 2 tsp 2 honey

  • 2 tbsp 2 raw walnuts

Method

  • Prepare the night before enjoying this treat.
  • Place the banana onto an ice cream stick, and then put it in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
  • Mix the walnuts with the honey, place them on a baking tray and toast in the oven for 5 minutes.
  • Allow the walnuts to cool.
  • Coat the frozen banana in the cocoa almond butter.
  • Roll the coated banana in the toasted walnuts.
  • Freeze overnight and enjoy the next day.
