Few fish dishes are as tasty as grilled salmon. This delightful salmon dish is glazed with honey and soy sauce adding an appetising dimension to this seafood meal.

Although salmon is a bit pricy, it is the ultimate fish dish to prepare when you want to spoil yourself. This is also perfect to bring out when you have some guests over you want to impress.

The great thing about making this grilled salmon recipe is that it does not even take 30 minutes of your time. So, not only is this a lip-smackingly delicious dish but it comes together beautifully in less than half an hour.

Ingredients

  • cup honey

  • ¼ cup ¼ soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons 2 lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon 1 red pepper flakes

  • 3 tablespoons 3 extra-virgin olive oil, divided

  • 4 4 salmon fillets (115 – 170 g each), patted dry with a paper towel

  • kosher salt

  • freshly ground black pepper

  • 3 cloves 3 garlic, minced

  • 1 1 lemon, sliced into rounds

Method

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice and red pepper flakes.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat two tablespoons of oil. When the oil is hot but not smoking, add the salmon skin-side up and season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the salmon until deeply golden, about 6 minutes, then flip over and add the remaining tablespoon of oil.
  • Add the garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, for about 1 minute.
  • Add the honey mixture and sliced lemons and cook until the sauce is reduced by about a third.
  • Baste the salmon with the sauce.
  • Garnish with sliced lemon and serve.
