The perfect potato bake side dish that will make you side step your other food to enjoy this one first. It’s so creamy and cheesy without any cream!

Though so simple, this recipe for potato bake is really the only way to make it. It has all the elements that a great potato bake should have. From well cooked potatoes to flavoursome with rich cream sauce and of course extra cheese!

I enjoy making this side dish into smaller dishes, like in the images as it just presents better. It will also make your guests feel special, knowing that they have a very sizeable amount of potato bake to enjoy from.

You may notice that I advise that you cut the potato slices paper thin and this is because it allows the potatoes to cook through faster. If you prefer your potato bake with thicker slices, you can simply cut them thicker and just cook the dish for longer.

The perfect potato bake side dish that will make you side step your other food to enjoy this one first. It’s so creamy and cheesy without any cream!

Ingredients

  • 5 large potatoes

  • 1 packet of Knorr Brown onion Soup

  • 1 packet of Knorr Mushroom Soup

  • 250 g cheddar cheese

  • Salt (add to taste)

  • Pepper (add to taste)

Method

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees
  • Cut the potatoes into paper thin slices
  • Grate all of the cheese
  • In a measuring cup mix the two packets of soup with milk instead of water
  • Start layering your potato slices in the serving dish
  • Once all layered, pour over the soup mix until 3/4 full
  • Top off with a final layer of cheese
  • Pop into the oven and cook for 25 minutes
  • Remove and enjoy
