Eggs are one of the most iconic additions to any good breakfast. You can have a full fry-up, just a couple of eggs on toast, avocado toast, quiche and omelets. However, there’s one style of eggs that are often not made at home. Make some easy poached eggs in under a minute thanks to this recipe and feel like a real chef with almost no effort. Now you can make your own eggs Benedict and healthy avocado toast in just a few minutes.

Easy poached eggs serving suggestions

The recipe below is a quick poached eggs, bacon and tomato breakfast but there’s so much you can do with them. With some English muffin and ham or bacon, you can have an Eggs Benedict with some creamy Hollandaise sauce. Enjoy it on some of your favourite toast like sourdough or rye bread with smashed avo and baby tomatoes. A perfect runny yolk and cooked egg white is going to do wonders for your breakfast and brunch meals.

Poached eggs always seem so difficult to make at home, but that is no longer the case with this super simple and quick recipe.

Ingredients

  • 400 ml 400 cold water

  • 4 large 4 eggs

  • Bowl of relish

  • grilled bacon

  • 2 slices 2 toast

Method

  • In a small bowl or shallow tea cup, por in 100ml cold water. Break in your egg.
  • Place in the microwave, uncovered, for 40 seconds. If you desire a harder egg, 5 seconds longer.
  • Using a slotted spoon to drain the excess water of the egg.
  • Repeat with each egg, but it is important to use cold water each time.
  • Season to taste.
