Do you love doughnuts? How about doughnuts with loads of sugar and a rich chocolate sauce? From Spain and Portugal, there is a delicacy which rivals almost any other, the churro. Similar to doughnuts, these elongated dough treats provide you with the perfect opportunity to eat more chocolate. Our crunchy churros with chocolate sauce is a great traditional Mediterranean sweet treat known across the world.

Making crunchy churros with chocolate sauce

They have a very recognisable look with their ridges created by specific piping bag attachments. This just gives more room for cinnamon sugar and chocolate sauce. When making the sauce, you will be using a double boiling method, also known as a bain-marie, to melt the chocolate. This gradually melts the chocolate for a more smooth consistency and keeps the richness from the chocolate. You can also add some coffee powder to the sauce to boost the flavour.
