We’ve all watched American TV and wondered what on earth Corn Dogs really where. We are going to show you the way this summer. It isn’t something we often find here in South Africa but it is one great snack for days outside by the pool. If you have a drink in one hand, you can’t eat many foods, but American corn dogs are on a stick, making them the perfect party snack this summer.

Corn dogs are viennas/hot dogs dipped in egg and corn flour to give it that crispy deep-fried goodness. The baking powder adds to the crunch in this recipe. You can use normal viennas from the store but if you can find real German sausages or American hot dogs, you’ll have a much tastier time with this Corn Dog recipe. Don’t fry too many at a time and this recipe is made for 12 of these beauties, but you can easily make lots more as needed. They are usually enjoyed with either tomato ketchup (Heinz is one of the closest you’ll find) and some good ol’ yellow mustard.

The best snack when you’re on your feet at the pool, Corn Dogs will always hit the spot this summer.
