It’s celebration season with Halloween coming up as well as Thanksgiving for our American friends and of course, Christmas. It’s time to put your pastry chef hat on for this very simple Condensed Milk Chocolate Truffles recipe. If you have a dessert table planned for your next celebration, these tasty treats are a must-have. They are super sweet, soft and gorgeously delicious and will be gobbled up in no time.

Whisking the first third of the cocoa powder into the condensed milk helps get the mixture nice and smooth, as you don’t want any lumps. Everybody loves smooth cake icing and these Condensed Milk Chocolate Truffles are like eating dusted icing. Due to the simplicity of these tasty treats, you can get as creative as you want to with decorations. Get creative with your cupcake cups or add some funny faces with icing or edible decorations. Go wild and see the troops descend on these treats. Do yourself a favour and make lots of them if you have a large group of people coming over.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 condensed milk

  • 100 ml 100 good quality cacao powder

  • 16 small 16 cupcake holders

  • 5 ml 5 cacao powder for dusting

Method

  • Place the cupcake holders in a small muffin pan and spray them lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a saucepan, heat the condensed milk until it bubbles on the sides.
  • Add a third of the cacao powder.
  • Beat the mixture vigorously with a whisk until the cacao is dissolved. Repeat with the rest of the cacao. The mixture should have the consistency of thick frosting or icing. Remove from the heat.
  • Spray your (clean) hands with non-stick spray.
  • With a spoon, place a small amount (walnut size) of the mixture in your hand and roll into a ball until smooth.
  • Place each ball in a cupcake holder.
  • Repeat until the mixture is finished.
  • Dust with cacao powder.
