When cooking for your family, pasta is always a winner. There’s always the classics but you can always get a bit creative and make something special for your self and your family. Chicken livers aren’t the first thing you think of when you want to make pasta but the texture actually works perfectly with pasta and you should try our creamy chicken liver pasta recipe. It’s a quick and easy meal to enjoy during the week when you don’t have much time to cook.

Chicken liver pasta suggestions

When making your chicken liver sauce, you can mash the livers even more for a better texture. If you use large pasta like penne, the sauce and livers actually get trapped in the pasta which provides the perfect bite every time. If you like your chicken livers to be spicy, you can use fresh chillie sor chilli flakes in your recipe. Garnish it with freshly ground black pepper and a garnish of parmesan cheese and some chopped basil.

Ingredients

  • 250 g 250 chicken livers trimmed and chopped

  • 2 large 2 onion, sliced

  • 175 ml 175 cream

  • 2 2 eggs, beaten

  • salt and pepper

  • parmesan cheese

  • oil for frying

Method

  • Add about 3 tablespoons oil to a pan on a medium heat and fry the onions until they begin to brown. Add the chicken livers and cook, stirring until the begin to change colour.
  • Add the cream and mix to combine and cook for 2 minutes. Add the beaten eggs, stir quickly and remove from heat.
  • Season with and pepper and add to your favorite cooked pasta and top with finely grated parmesan cheese.
