Layer your own Caprese Salad at home with this easy recipe. This Italian salad is incredibly delicious. It may easily become your favourite salad after enjoying this combination.

Caprese Salad is usually made of sliced fresh mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and sweet basil. It is then seasoned with salt and drizzled with olive oil. This recipe includes some extra goodies to make it even better.

Buffalo cheese has been used instead of mozzarella cheese. Some fried breadcrumbs or croutons are also added for some extra crunch. Then, creamy avocado and balsamic are in the mix to enhance the taste experience. The combination of colours of a Caprese Salad almost reminds one of an Italian flag.

Ingredients

  • 200 g 200 buffalo cheese

  • 150 g 150 cocktail tomatoes, halved

  • 3 3 basil leaves

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 teaspoon 1 olive oil

  • balsamic to glaze

  • 2 2 avocados

  • 40 ml 40 fried bread crumbs

Method

  • Firstly, lay the breadcrumbs on the serving dish and add the cocktail tomatoes on top of the breadcrumbs.
  • Then add the sliced avocado on top of the tomatoes.
  • Arrange the buffalo cheese slices In a platter pattern on top of the avocado.
  • Add salt and pepper, glaze with balsamic and basil leaves for garnish.
