Buttered green veggies with sesame dressing are just as delicious as it sounds. It is a tasty greens veggie dish with butter and a delicious sesame dressing.

Broccoli contains so much iron and other important vitamins and minerals which help keep your body strong and healthy. Green beans also include nitrates which you can’t find in many other vegetables other than beans. Blanching the vegetables in boiling water helps break down the cells a bit, making them more tender and helping your body absorb the goodness. When you’re done blanching the broccoli and green beans, cool them down in a bowl with ice water. When you then pan-fry them, your buttered green veggies with sesame dressing will be perfectly cooked.

A delicious dressing drizzled over steamed green vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 head 1 head of broccoli, floreted

  • 1 packet 1 green beans, top and tailed

  • 1 clove 1 garlic, finely chopped

  • INGREDIENTS – DRESSING
  • 2 tsp 2 lightly toasted sesame seeds

  • 30 ml 30 sesame oil

  • 1 tsp 1 soya sauce

  • juice of 1 lime and zest

  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • To make the dressing, mix together the sesame seeds, oil, soya sauce, lime and seasoning.
  • Blanch the broccoli and green beans for a couple of minutes. Drain.
  • Add the butter to a frying pan over low heat, and gently sauté the clove of garlic.
  • Add the broccoli and green beans, sauté for a few more minutes, then drizzle over the sesame dressing.
  • Serve immediately, as the beans will go a dullish khaki colour if left in the dressing for too long.
