If you love French toast for breakfast or brunch, we have a special recipe for you. This stuffed French toast recipe is everything you love about French toast but with added melt-in-the-mouth delicious ingredients.

Traditional French toast is a simple recipe of soaking a slice of bread in an egg-milk mixture and frying it in a pan. Serving it with a generous dollop of golden syrup usually makes this morning bite irresistible.

However, this recipe goes a step further by stuffing the French toast with peppers, ham and cheese, resulting in a melted gooey cheesy bite.

Variations of our stuffed French toast recipe

This recipe is one of those versatile recipes where you can play around with ingredients until you find your favourite combo. Since you basically place two slices on top of each other with your choice of filling inside before soaking it in the egg-milk mixture, you can stuff it with whatever you prefer.

Some delicious ideas that come to mind are spinach, feta and mushrooms. You may want to pre-cook the mushrooms slightly to make them less crunchy. You can also experiment with salami and cheese. Another combo that will be very popular is a simple cheese and tomato French toast. Let us know which combo is your favourite.
