Come rain or shine, one of the most popular dessert recipes in South Africa is a peppermint crisp tart. Whipping this lip-smackingly delicious, sweet treat together is super easy. The result is a creamy, caramel and chocolate bite with a little bit of crunch. Pure indulgence with each bite.

Preparing this sweet bite is really quick. In about 15 minutes you can have your dessert prepared, layered and ready to pop into the fridge. And that is where the challenge is: You need to allow this sweet bite to chill preferably overnight for the best results. So, the most difficult part is to exercise some patience as your delicacy comes together in the fridge.

Tips for your peppermint crisp tart

If you are trying to cut out dairy, you can use Orley Whip instead of cream. Also, if you like your sweet treat to be extra minty and chocolaty, nothing stops you from adding another bar or two.

If you plan to serve this tart at a gathering or take it with you to an event, the best is to prepare it the day before so that it can set properly.
