Beef pizza: Homemade favourite prepared with aromatic ingredients

Mention the word pizza in any home and you will notice that the children in the house smile brighter all of a sudden. This beef pizza is not only easy to prepare but ready in 30 minutes if you have a pizza base ready.

There is something just so comforting about a pizza with melted, gooey cheese coming steaming hot from the oven. The moment it is cut into slices, many hands will reach out for a slice to indulge in this comfort food.

With winter just around the corner, it is time to level up your pizza preparation skills again. But to be honest, pizza is delicious whether you enjoy it in the middle of the winter or summer.

If you are in the mood for a meaty pizza, this recipe is the perfect choice for you. You can even add some more meatiness by including some chorizo sausage or salami. For extra topping delight, you can also slice up some mushrooms to give it a delicious umami flavour.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef (93% lean or leaner)

  • 1 small green, yellow, red peppers cut into thin strips

  • ¾ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon pepper

  • 1 package thick prebaked pizza crust

  • 1-1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 100 g Napolitano sauce

Method

  • Heat oven to 200°C.
  • Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat until hot.
  • Add ground beef and cook 8 to 10 minutes, breaking into small crumbles and stirring occasionally. Remove drippings. Add pepper; cook until vegetables are crisp-tender. Remove from skillet with slotted spoon and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place pizza crust on a baking sheet. Top with Napolitano sauce as a base, then the beef mixture, and then cheese.
  • Bake in 200°C oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and cut the pizza.
