However, there are recipes like this one that’s simple to make and easy to enjoy for a few days with a small family. A great stew or pasta is always tasty and cooks long enough for you to do chores. This bacon and paprika steak pasta is here to save you from your weeknight decisions.

Bacon and paprika steak pasta tips

With the recipe, you will be layering flavours by cooking individually which takes about 10 minutes before letting it simmer for a while. The beef ends up being super tender depending on the cut you use and the paprika boosts the flavour to a new level. Be aware of using smoked paprika as it can overpower the taste. Serve your your braised steak with pasta or rice. Add a garnish of parsley, garlic and lemon zest.

Ingredients

  • 6 rashers 6 6 rashers bacon (cut into small pieces)

  • 1.5 kg 1.5 boneless beef shoulder or shank cut into
    small cubes

  • 1 1 onion, chopped

  • 2-3 cloves 2-3 garlic

  • 5 cups 5 chickens stock

  • 3 tbsp 3 paprika

  • tsp salt

  • 3 tbsp 3 flour

  • ½ cup ½ cold water

  • 1 cup 1 sour cream

  • dark toasted almonds

Method

  • In a heavy pot, fry the bacon in some oil and set aside, then brown the beef before removing and adding to the bacon.
  • Saute the onions in the beef and bacon fat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds before adding the meat back.
  • Add chicken stock, 3 tablespoons paprika and 1½ teaspoons salt.
  • Cover and simmer slowly until beef is tender, about 1½ hours.
  • Now mix 3 Tablespoons flour with ½ cup cold water and 1 cup cream. Mix with the beef and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Taste for seasoning and add more salt and paprika if necessary.
  • Garnish with Almonds and serve with rice or noodles.
