We all love a good braai or roast with the family and every group has members with signature side dishes that they are always asked to bring along. With air fryers becoming even more popular, it’s easier and more fun to make some great sides that will become a new favourite. This air fryer roasted pumpkin recipe is a fully-flavoured side that goes great with roast beef or your assortment of meats cooked on the open fire this weekend, surrounded by friends. Air fryer roasted pumpkin suggestions

While you often need to wait almost twenty minutes for an oven to heat up and another minimum forty minutes to roast vegetables in the oven, the air fryer takes five minutes to warm up in which time you can prep you pumpkin and another twenty minutes to cook. Not only is it a great side, but roasted butternut in this same style will end up making the most delicious pumpkin soup too after the outside has been caramelized. You can also play around with flavours and even add some spice with paprika.

Ingredients

  • cubed pumpkin

  • all spice

  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • olive oil

  • feta cheese

  • spring onioin

Method

  • Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes to 180°C.
  • In a bowl add the pumpkin, drizzle some all spice, salt and pepper to taste and drizlle some cooking oil. 
  • Roast for 15-20 minutes depending on the size of your pumpkin pieces.
  • Once done, for colour and flavour, add spring onion and feta cheese.
