Apple and Mint L-Gin Cocktail – Lush and Delicious

Summertime in South Africa is the perfect occasion for a refreshing beverage. As South Africans, we spend many hours outdoors in the sun and we need to be refreshed and festive. The Apple and Mint L-Gin Cocktail will quench any thirst and tickle every single taste bud on your tongue.

This is a very simple cocktail that is also not too strong. It is incredibly refreshing, lush and delicious. Accompanying the L-Gin Lush hand-crafted gin is the freshness of mint and tangy sweetness of your own homemade lemon syrup. L-Gin Lush gin is infused with Granny Smith apples and enhanced with citrus and the garnish of a single apple slice. The lemon syrup takes 10 to 15 minutes to make and lasts in the fridge for a month. This means that you can enjoy this delicious cocktail for weeks to come.

Lush and delicious, the Apple and Mint L-Gin cocktail will enhance any festivities and quench any thirst. Perfect at a great South African braai or a day by the pool.

Ingredients

  • 1 1 tot L-Gin Lush hand-crafted gin

  • 1 slice 1 fresh Granny Smith Elgin apple

  • 25 ml 25 lemon syrup  (see recipe below) 

  • a sprig of fresh mint

  • soda water

  • LEMON SYRUP
  • ½ cup ½ water

  • ½ cup ½ freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • ½ cup ½ sugar

  • 1 1 small piece of lemon grass

Method

  • COCKTAIL
  • Mix together into a beautiful glass and fill the glass with soda water.
  • LEMON SYRUP
  • Bring the lemon syrup ingredients to a boil in saucepan or pot.
  • Stir until all sugar grains are dissolved.
  • Strain and store in the fridge.
