HOW PROJECT O BEGAN

Project O is a house with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cottage, pool, garden and activity court. While inspecting the house, Baron was buzzing with ideas about how to renovate the home, pointing out where he would like to add new walls, tiles and how to refurbish the kitchen.

Simon, who sold the house to Baron, said he fell on hard times and selling his house was the last option to keep himself afloat.

“It’s a very emotional experience. I was young when I came here, now I’m an old man,” he said.

THE RENOVATIONS BEGIN

During week one of the Project O renovations, Baron and his team began working on the garden area to create more parking space for cars. He also broke down the kitchen wall to create an open plan kitchen space.

In week three of the project, the house flipper removed the facebrick wall on the outside of the house and replaced it with a more modern look.

He also mentioned that during the building process, they had to pause due to the rain in Johannesburg. Although this ended up slowing down the process, Baron was able to pinpoint where the water leaks were in the house.

THE R600K PROFIT!

After purchasing the house for just over R1 million, Baron sold the house for R2.4 million. Which means he made just over R600 000 on Project O.
