Former South African Finance Minister Tito Mboweni has been accused of pretending to be poor after he headed online to complain about load shedding. Taking to Twitter, Tito shared snaps of himself resting on his couch with the lights out. In his caption, he slammed load shedding for interrupting his plans to get some work done.

While many headed to the comment section to complain about load shedding too, others slammed the former minister for “pretending to be poor”.

Tito gets no sympathy after complaining about load shedding

Tito Mboweni has gained himself quite a a following on Twitter and now has over 1 million people tuned in to view his tweets.

The former South African minister usually shares updates on his latest meal ideas and an occasional post about politics.

This time he took to the blue bird app to complain about load shedding which has had a chokehold on South Africa for almost a year now.

The ex-minister shared bizarre photos of himself wearing sunglasses while laying in his dark sitting room.

According to him, the load shedding was interrupting his plans on getting some important work done.

“Load shedding, Load shedding go away. Governor wants to work!” he captioned the hilarious photos.

Mzansi is not impressed

The post received thousands of likes and many comments from social media users who weighed in on the load shedding crisis.

Others slammed the Tito for “pretending to be poor”.

“Pretending to be poor so that twitter don’t come for you, we know you’re a billionaire. You can buy all of us generators and back up electricity. Stop with this nonsense,” wrote one person while another added:

“The calibre of leaders in the ANC is a joke.”
