The Chief of Social Media (and occasionally, police) Fikile Mbalula caused a sensational reaction on Twitter last night, when he reacted to a poorly-drawn portrait of him that was circulating on Twitter.

@Slu_Q95 drew a picture of the Chief, using his Twitter profile picture: And what a work of art it is. Now, we have to remind you, Mbalula is on the left of screen here…

Did it impress Fikile Mbalula?

The prankster had the internet in stitches, claiming to be a 22 year old who fell in love with art from a very young age. He asked for a simple retweet to raise awareness, but garnered attention from all over the nation. In less than a day, the post had already scored 2,000 rewteets and 1,300 favourites.

When Mbalula got wind of it, he was less than impressed. In fact, he want as far as to label the amateur artist ‘ a danger to society’:

In all fairness to Flick, he signed his tweet off with a hearty laugh. As a man who spends half his time on the social network, Mbalula knows a good Twitter jape when he sees one.

You better believe the reactions to the drawing were phenomenally good, too:

So what is in store for SA’s next top artist? He’ll certainly be in demand following his latest masterpiece. If you want a hyper-realistic portrait as a gift, we’re sure @Slu_Q95 would be happy to make a special day that little bit more memorable.
