Australian model and body positivity activist Bridget Malcolm took to TikTok earlier this week to post a clip of her putting on the size 30A white bra she modelled during her appearance in the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Putting the bra over the top of a striped bikini top to demonstrate the drastic size difference, Bridget noted that her current underwear is size 34B and is “healthy for me”.

Bridget Malcolm: ‘The sadness behind my eyes’

“Look how big it is on me. The sadness behind my eyes from the 2016 show breaks my heart. Victoria’s Secret – your performative ally ship is a joke (sic),” she stated to the camera.

Bridget went on to share that she sported a size 30B bra when she auditioned for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2017, but former executive Ed Razek did not hire her for the lingerie spectacle.

“I was rejected from the show in 2017 by Ed Razek. He said, ‘My body did not look good enough,'” the 29-year-old alleged.

Victoria Secret latest: Brand transformation

Following Bridget’s viral post, a spokesperson for Victoria’s Secret issued a statement to People in which they emphasised that executives are now focused on promoting inclusivity.

“There is a new leadership team at Victoria’s Secret who is fully committed to the continued transformation of the brand with a focus on creating an inclusive environment for our associates, customers and partners to celebrate, uplift and champion all women,” they commented.

Bye bye, Victoria’s Secret Angels

Last month, a representative for the label announced that they are going to ditch the Victoria Secret Angels and instead focus on a new group of ambassadors, to be known as The VS Collective. Founding members include Priyanka Chopra, Adut Akech, Amanda de Cadenet, Eileen Gu, Megan Rapinoe, Paloma Elsesser, and Valentina Sampaio.
