Medical doctor Thato Mosehle left South Africa with a good luck charm from former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi as she gears up to compete at the Miss Supranational pageant in Poland later this month.

THATO FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ZOZI

Thato Mosehle was the first runner-up at the 2020 Miss SA pageant and will present Mzansi in Poland for the Miss Supranational pageant while Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida will take on Miss World in December and second runner up Natasha Joubert represented South Africa at the Miss Universe competition in May.

Taking to Instagram, Mosehle posted a video showing her airport arrival and take off to Europe. She captioned the post “we are our ancestors wildest dreams!” echoing the words of former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi during the finale of the Miss Universe pageant earlier this year when she passed down her crown to Andrea Meza.

“My Miss Universe win is my ancestors’ wildest dream,” said Tunzi

“We are now in a world where a black African girl from a country that is only 27 years into democracy can represent them on the global stage. I want to honour them for fighting for my freedoms so I could be where I am today,” she continued.

“I’m proud to know I did my best to make a difference, cementing a footprint for others to follow in the future,” she concluded.

While Zozibini Tunzi made history by becoming the longest reigning Miss Universe, Thato Mosehle may become the first South African to bring home the title of Miss Supranational.

THATO’S ‘GOODLUCK’ CHARM FROM ZOZI TUNZI

Miss Supranational SA took off with a “good luck” charm from Zozibini Tunzi in the form of ribbons from the former Miss Universe’s “Wave of Love” national costume she wore ahead of her Miss Universe win in 2019.

The ribbons were tied to Mosehle’s luggage. Here is a look.

“I have ribbons from @zozitunzi National Costume tied to them! Hopefully some luck will rub off! ❤️💛💚💙🖤🤍,” wrote Mosehle on Instagram.

Mosehle has already arrived in Poland and is getting to know the beauty queens she will be competing with. Miss Supranational is set to kick off on 20 August.
