Whilst Kylie Jenner fans are up in arms about her controversial Schiaparelli dress at Paris Fashion Week, the reality TV star has found support in an unlikely ally – Peta!

Following the backlash of the billionaire’s dress – which featured a faux lion’s head and which social media users have claimed “glamorises trophy hunting,” the animal activists have issued a statement in SUPPORT of the look.

On Monday, 23 January, Kylie Jenner made an appearance at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2023 at Paris Fashion Week.

The mom-of-two was seated in the front row and was a VIP guest of designer Daniel Roseberry. Also invited to the show was singer Doja Cat, who donned a bizarre red embellished look.

Kylie wore a strapless black velvet dress with black and gold accessories. But stealing the show was what appeared to be a severed lion’s head on the make-up mogul’s shoulder.

Kylie’s look – the brainchild of Roseberry – dominated the show, with many models wearing various life-like animal “heads” in their couture gowns.

According to Schiaparelli, the “faux taxidermy” looks were handmade and created to “look as life-like as possible.”

In an Instagram post, Kylie gushed over the controversial dress, posting: “Beauty and the beast. Wow, I loved wearing this faux art creation constructed by hand using manmade materials. Beautiful”.

But apart from Kylie’s celeb pals, the dress was an epic fail amongst her followers.

Ariellemcomer: “This ain’t fashion. Just promotes animal abuse.”

Claire_gorman3: “Someone, please explain how this is art. In my opinion, it looks like she is promoting hunting/animal cruelty. Faux or not. Someone with her power should not be wearing this and calling it ‘fashion’”

__garciamavely: “Animals are not an accessory.”

Alexandre_curiati: “You should campaign to stop the hunting of lions, tigers, and other endangered animals.”

Sandy16s: “This is appalling, so wrong on so many levels.”

But despite the widespread criticism, PETA surprisingly released a statement supporting Kylie Jenner.

According to Page Six, the animal activists hailed the looks as “fabulously innovative.”

It said: “Kylie, Naomi, and Irina’s looks celebrate the beauty of wild animals and maybe a statement against trophy hunting, in which lions and wolves are torn apart to satisfy human egotism.”

It added: “We encourage everyone to stick with 100% cruelty-free designs that showcase human ingenuity and prevent animal suffering”.

However, in a tweet, Peta called on Kylie, Schiaparelli, and supermodels to “extend this creativity to be 100% vegan & exclude sheep shorn bloody for wool & silkworms boiled alive for silk!”.
