Despite South Africa winning multiple Miss Universe titles, 2023 representative Ndavi Nokeri is a favourite to take the crown, and rightfully so!

The 23-year-old, who hails from Limpopo, is a “hot contender” and has received praise from both pageant insiders and judges.

The Miss Universe pageant takes place on Saturday, 14 January in New Orleans, USA .

Ndavi Nokeri is a proud Tsonga girl and wants the world to know it.

She told Tshisalive of her Miss Universe national costume: “I almost got so emotional when I went out there because I really wanted to represent my Tsonga culture in the pattern and main piece of the dress.

“I wanted my Tsonga people to feel proud, and the two African wings showed that South Africa and Africa are on the rise.”

World-class exports

Besides beautiful and talented South African exports like Bonang Matheba, Thuso Mbedu, and Sho Madjozi, Mzansi is also home to previous Miss Universe winners like Margaret Gardiner, Demi-Leigh Tebow, and Zozi Tunzi.
