Miss SA 2022: Here’s the leading fashion designers for finale

From George Malelu to Juan William Aria, here are the fashion designers behind the Miss SA top 10 finalists looks for the finale.

Some of South Africa’s best fashion designers are set to dress the Miss SA top 10 finalists for the finale held at Sun International’s the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria on 13 August.

LEADING FASHION DESIGNERS AT MISS SOUTH AFRICA 2022

Some of South Africa’s finest designers are set to dress the top 10 finalists at the Miss Sa pageant on 13 August. Miss South Africa returns to Gauteng this year. So, the winner will be crowned at the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria. Reigning Miss SA Lalela Mswane, who was crowned Miss Supranational on 15 July, will pass down the crown to her successor.

The finale will be broadcasted live on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) and Mnet (DStv Channel 101) on 13 August from 18h30. The event will also be streamed for an international audience on the Miss South Africa app.

So, who will be designing the finalists outfits this year?

  • Casey Jeanne from Morningside in KZN
  • Johannesburg-based Georges Malelu
  • Potchefstroom’s Jolandie Fouche
  • Juan William Aria from Weltevredenpark
  • William de Beer from Johannesburg 
  • Soweto’s Zamaswazi Mathole.

THANDO THABETHE BRINGS THABOOTYS TO MISS SA

Thabootys – Actress Thando Thabethe’s lingerie and swimwear brand are the official sponsors of the swimwear line-up. 

“Swimwear can be a designer piece, depicting a woman’s confidence and her ‘being able towalk in her glory’. I am looking forward to dazzling the Miss South Africa finalists at the same level of changing the game when it comes to swimwear,” she said in a statement. 

The remaining five designers will each create a magical evening gown for two of the Top finalists. They have also designed for a number of celebrities and former Miss South Africa title holders, Miss Universe winners Demi-Leigh (Nel-Peters) Tebow and Zozibini Tunzi and more. 

The couturiers were challenged to create garments inspired by South African mineral resources including sparkling diamonds, black coal, shiny copper and glittering gold.
