Last weekend, South Africa welcomed a new reigning queen, Ndavi Nokeri. The Tsonga beauty received a warm welcome from her fellow South Africans who say she is the perfect fit for the Miss SA 2022 title. Not everyone is impressed with her and shared their disappointed thoughts on social media. One person who has called the beauty queen out is Ntsiki Mazwai who has mocked Ndavi for using a “white accent” to introduce herself in a video that has since gone viral.

Human rights activist and poet Ntsiki Mazwai is one of the country’s most vocal media personalities. Never holding back, she is ever ready to share her controversial opinions on social media – Twitter to be exact.

Taking some time to share her thoughts on Miss SA 2022, Ndavi Nokeri, Ntsiki commented that she is trying too hard to be white.

This after a video started circulating of the beauty queen introducing herself as the new Miss South Africa. According to Mazwai, who took to Twitter with her thoughts, Ndavi’s white accent is the reason why she was chosen as the winner.

“I see why they chose her… Sho mlungu wethu,” she wrote in a tweet on Thursday this week.

Mzansi weighs in

The controversial tweet caught the attention of quite a few locals who wasted no time sharing their thoughts on Ndavi as the winner as well as her accent in the video.
