INDYA MOORE’S COLLABORATION WITH TOMMY HILFIGER

According to designer Tommy Hilfiger, the summer pre-fall collection celebrates the uniqueness, beauty and diversity of the global community.

Speaking to Vogue, the non-binary actor described the collection not as genderless, but as “genderful”.

“I wanted the collection to be something that was inviting to everyone-everybody across a spectrum of human bodies, shapes, sizes, genders and forms of expression.”

Partnering with Tommy Hilfiger has a deep significance for Moore, as she/they instantly associates the brand with one of her/their favourite artists, R&B singer Aaliyah, who featured in a 1996 Tommy Hilfiger jeans campaign. The brand also had a significant presence in Moore’s community when growing up in Brooklyn, New York.

TOMMY X INDYA INSPIRATION

The inspiration behind the campaign aligns with Tommy Hilfiger’s People’s Place Program which aims at creating opportunities for talent from underrepresented communities.

Besides Moore, the campaign features four powerful activists. Chella Man is a YouTuber, artist, actor and model, who has openly shared his experiences of being a trans man on various platforms.

Gia Love is the creator of the what’s your fantasy campaign that advocates for the rights of black trans women, Cory Walker is an actor and model from New York and Pidgeon is the co-founder of the intersex justice project.
