South African award-winning fashion designer Rich Mnisi strutted his signature mini skirts on the streets of Milan in Italy for the Milan Fashion Week which took place from 21 to 27 September.

RICH MNISI TAKES HIS MINI SKIRTS TO MILAN

Johannesburg-based fashion label Rich Mnisi was founded by Rich Fumani Mnisi. The label is known for its exorbitantly priced clothing that celebrities, including Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung, are often seen parading in around town.

The unconventional designer seeks to push conventional fashion boundaries and has done just that. In June this year, the designer trended on Twitter after he was seen dressing in mini skirts which left little to the imagination.

With gender-neutral fashion taking flight, it was the perfect time for Rich Mnisi to show off his legs! The high end fashion designer took his mini skirts global as he attended Milan Fashion Week last week.

In a picture posted to his Instagram account, he is seen wearing what looks like a white leather mini skirt with a matching coat and no shirt! He matched the outfit with a bunch of layered chains, sunglasses and Prada sneakers.

RICH MNISI’S SS21 COLLECTION

Rich Mnisi also debuted his RICH MNISI MAFAMBA YEXE S/S 22 collection at Milan fashion week. This season is all about self-discovery for the designer.

“Rich Mnisi takes us on a journey of self-discovery in SS22. This collection, Mafamba Yexe, finds its inspiration in a microscopic view of Bumba’s purge, made up of cells that, like so many others, split apart to multiply. Pain on the outside, pain on the inside, discomfort everywhere,” wrote the designer in a Facebook post.

He went on to say that the brand will be returning to the vivid green colour as well as a palette of yellows and reds this season.

“We return to vivid green, a grounding brand colour, meeting a fiery palette of yellows and reds across signature silhouettes. Abstract prints inspired by bacteria under a microscope creep across the body. Smooth and printed leathers lend lively tactility, while feathers offer a softer touch,” he continued.

Here is a look at the collection.

‘RICH’: A ONCE-OFF MAGAZINE

The award-winning designer also announced the release of a once-off magazine titled Rich. The magazine is released for the occasion of their latest furniture collection, Nyoka.

“We’re proud to announce RICH, a once-off magazine published on the occasion of our latest furniture collection, Nyoka, with all-original content by contributors including @trevor_stuurman, @uglybruv, Kholeka Khumalo, @ricardosimal , @okbaddiek, @alixstemmelin and many more. 132 pages of interviews, essays, photographs and illustrations. Printed in a limited edition of 750,” the post was captioned.
