David Tlale adds doctor to his title! as The designer to the stars received an honorary doctorate at the Tshwane University of Technology.

When it comes to the fashion scene in South Africa, we know that David Tlale has been a trailblazer for many years. Some of his clients include celebrities from the likes of former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Minnie Dlamini and The Lion King actress Florence Kasumba. Now the celebrity designer has been given the biggest educational recognition of his career: An honorary doctorate in arts and design.

DAVID TLALE AND ICONS HONOURED AT TUT
The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has decided to honour the country’s icons in the art and design world. Among them are the amazing Ndebele artist Dr Esther Mahlangu and songstress Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
“I am humbled to be conferred by TUT with the Honorary Doctorate in Arts and Design. Much appreciation and love. I dedicate This doctorate degree to my Mom Joyce’ my family, friends the media and my beautiful country SA. To my team, thank you…God your grace is sufficient for me,” according to The Citizen.
LATE MOTHER GIVEN A SPECIAL DEDICATION
Throughout his career, David Tlale’s always given thanks to his mother, the late Joyce Tlale, who’s always supported her son through the trials and triumphs.
The mogul designer dedicated his honorary doctorate to his mother with such elegance and grace.

A BMW SPONSORSHIP FIT FOR A DR DESIGNER
Along with his honorary doctorate, Tlale got a nod of approval from luxury German car brand BMW who gifted him with a BMW 7 Series 750Li .
He wrote on his Instagram: “Humbled for the Acknowledgment. Still in awe and Gratitude. Thank you @bmwjoburgcity_official for the amazing 750Li sponsor!”.
