Balenciaga, under the helm of head designer Demna Gvaseli, has been making headlines for some truly bizarre designs in the last few weeks…
It started with Kim Kardashian’s mysterious and memefied Met Gala look and most recently was seen by Cardi B at Paris Fashion Week mushroom-shaped hat had everyone in hysterics.
Now the luxury fashion house has released their Spring 2022 Ready to Wear range – with a shoe collection that has many shuddering…

IS KANYE DESIGNING FOR BALENCIAGA?
Balenciaga officially released their spring ready-to-wear collection earlier this month, which featured a hodgepodge of long, overflowing gowns, oversized tracksuits and coats and distressed denim.
But it was their shoe collection in particular that had the timeline talking.

“Balenciaga just made Robocop’s feet into shoes”, one tweep described the unusual footwear.
“Something definitely wrong with Balenciaga making them 2nd testament shoes” said another
A third questioned if Kanye West had anything to do with the designs…
“I think Kanye is a ghost designer”, they tweeted, referencing the rapper’s Yeezy brand and it’s reputation for looking worst for wear.

WHAT THE CROC?
And the “spaceship shoes” from Balenciaga weren’t their only freaky footwear they had to offer. A pair of chunky Crocs with silver studs were also a huge talking point at Paris Fashion Week
The look was seen on celebs like Lewis Hamilton and Elliot Paige were clearly fans of the daring design, having worn them to the fashion house’s show earlier this month.
