Imprisoned Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been granted permission to get married – and his bride-to-be Stella Morris hails from Mzansi!

According to Stella, the couple were granted permission to wed at London’s Belmarsh high-security prison. But not before the couple pursued legal action against the governor of the prison who attempted to block the union.

Stella tweeted on Thursday: “Good news: UK government has backed down 24h before the deadline. Julian and I now have permission to marry in Belmarsh prison.

“I am relieved but still angry that legal action was necessary to put a stop to the illegal interference with our basic right to marry.”

SHE ‘SECRETLY’ CONCEIVED THEIR TWO CHILDREN

Julian and Stella conceived their two children whilst he was living inside the Ecuadorean embassy in London, which he took up to avoid extradition to Sweden over his sexual assault case. He was also wanted in the US over charges of espionage after leaking of thousands of classified US intelligence documents.

She said: “Forming a family was a deliberate decision to break down those walls around him and imagine a life beyond that prison.

“While for many people it would seem insane to start a family in that context, for us it was the sane thing to do, to keep things real.

“It grounds me, and when Julian sees the children, it gives him a lot of peace and nurture and support. They are very happy children.”

SHE BELIEVES AUTHORITIES TRIED TO STEAL SON’S DNA

According to court documents, Stella Morris kept her pregnancy a secret from both the public and the Ecuadorian Embassy, where Julian Assange was seeking political asylum.

She hid her baby bump by wearing baggy clothes and later “smuggled” firstborn son Gabriel into the embassy to meet his dad, via friends.

They believe US intelligence agencies tried to steal their son’s DNA from a nappy after becoming suspicious that Julian was his father.

She disclosed: “[A security guard] had been given instructions to follow me outside the embassy and steal our baby’s nappy from inside it so they could analyse the DNA.

“He warned me not to bring the baby into the embassy again.

According to Stella Morris, a close friend filmed the birth of her second son Max via a GoPro, and the footage was sent to Julian, who at the time was banned from receiving visitors.

Stella and her sons reunited with Julian in 2019 when he was moved to the Belmarsh Prison in London after finally being arrested.

The couple plan to wed “before 2022”.
