Netflix drops trailer for star-studded comedy ‘Don’t Look Up’ [watch]

Streaming platform Netflix released the full-length trailer for the upcoming comedy Don’t Look Up starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lawrence — on 11 November

NETFLIX RELEASES TRAILER FOR STAR-STUDDED COMEDY ‘DON’T LOOK UP’

Netflix debuted the trailer for their upcoming comedy Don’t Look Up on 11 November. The comedy has a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Ariana Grande, Tyler Perry and more. 

Lawrence and DiCaprio play scientists who are trying to alert the world about a dangerous comedy headed towards Earth. However, Streep, who plays the president of the US does not take their warning seriously.

“I hear there’s something you don’t like the looks of? At this exact moment, I say we sit tight and assess,” she says in the oval office. 

In absolute shock, the scientists take matters into their own hands to spread awareness about the approaching disaster. Don’t Look Up will have a cinematic release on 10 December and will be available for streaming on Netflix on 24 December. 

“Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem — it’s on a direct collision course with Earth… the other problem? No one really seems to care,” reads the film’s synopsis according to Netflix.

‘DON’T LOOK UP’ IS DIRECTED BY ADAM MCKAY

American film director Adam Mckay is the director, screenwriter and producer of the film alongside Kevin Messick. The star-studded cast are set to keep viewers on the edge of the seats as they attempt to alert the world of the incoming disaster.

“Turns out warning mankind about a planet-killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient fact to navigate. With the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall embark on a media tour that takes them from the office of an indifferent  President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her sycophantic son and Chief of Staff, Jason (Jonah Hill), to the airwaves of The Daily Rip,” the synopsis continued. 

“An upbeat morning show hosted by Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry). With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it’s too late proves shockingly comical — what will it take to get the world to just look up?!” the synopsis added.
