‘STRICTLY’ DANCE PROS REFUSE THE COVID-19 VACCINE

Strictly Come Dancing is set to air its first live show on Saturday 25 September and the show’s production team is not only dealing with a dance pro testing positive weeks before the show, but they were also dealing with two dance pros who refuse to be vaccinated.

More recently, a third dance pro refused the COVID-19 vaccine that has the production team in even more of a crisis. A source told The Sun that the dancers who refuse to be vaccinated have been a topic amongst the contestants and the crew.

“There were vocal protests from celebrities that they didn’t want to be paired with them. It’s a headache for bosses but employers cannot force workers to get jabbed.”

The identities of these contestants have not been revealed.

‘CURTAINS’ FOR CONTESTANTS

The source mentioned that producers are “dreading” a COVID-19 outbreak because it had a massive impact on the show last year. They continued to say that if half of the contestants had to contract COVID-19 it would be “curtains” for the show.

“The last series showed how disruptive the virus could be when Katya Jones tested positive and had to leave the competition with partner Nicola Adams.”

A Strictly spokesperson noted that they cannot comment on the speculation of a contestant’s COVID-19 vaccination.

DR RANJ SINGH DEFENDS ‘STRICTLY’ CONTESTANTS

Television presenter and medical doctor, Dr Ranj Singh noted that vaccination is not mandatory and said that everyone should be playing their part to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.

“There may be legitimate reasons for those people to not be able to have the jab and we’ve got to understand that, but I think we’ve all got a part to play to be as safe as possible.”

In line with COVID-19 measures for the show, dancers are tested multiple times a week and dance pros are required to stay in “bubbles” at a London hotel.

The dance pairs for the show have already been announced and two South African dancers (Johannes Radebe and Oti Mabuse) have already been paired with English celebrities. Cape Town dancer Cameron Lombard is yet to be paired with a celeb.
