Season two of Netflix’s original series Blood & Water is on the horizon. Social media blew up on Monday after the release of the teaser and of all the people excited for the second season who would’ve thought Lil Nas X would be a part of the bunch!

LIL NAS X CAN’T WAIT FOR ‘BLOOD & WATER’ SEASON TWO

Netflix South Africa released the teaser for Blood & Water season two yesterday (23 August) and the series shot up to the top of Twitter’s trending list. 

Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Nas X expressed his excitement about season two of the hit series writing; “AHHHHH LETS GOOOO”. Netflix assured Lil Nas X that he would love the second season.

‘BLOOD & WATER’ SEASON TWO

The second season of Blood & Water is set to be released on 24 September. The main actress in the show, Ama Qamata, shared the news on her Instagram writing, “The coolest kids in Africa are back with another season!!”

The series will feature the same faces from Parkhurst High, as well as, a few new faces. New faces that will feature in the second season include Leroy Siyafa, Katishka Chanderal and Alzavia Abrahams. 

The series will pick up right where it left off, after the two leads Puleng (Ama Qamata) and Fikile (Khosi Ngema) find out they are sisters.

SEASON ONE SUCCESS

Blood & Water premiered on Netflix on 20 May 2020. Shortly after its release, the series claimed the number one spot on Netflix in several countries including South Africa, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Kenya and France. 

The show also bagged a top ten spot in the United Kingdom, Mauritius, Brazil, Switzerland and Belguim. Fans cannot wait for the show to be released and have been on the edge of their seats to see what will happen next at Parkhurst High. 

Series director Nosipho Dumisa shared that the success of Blood & Water is a testament to the hard work put in by the entire team.
