Weeks after Steve Hofmeyr and his son Devon called for a mass boycott of Dis-Chem, the singer has officially ended his relationship with the retailer.

The outspoken singer and activist responded to the controversy surrounding the retailer after an internal memo went viral last month.

In it, the nationwide pharmacy group revealed that they were placing a “moratorium” on hiring white individuals. This was due to them keeping with labour legislation.

But whilst Dis-Chem may have apologised for their “tone” and “wording”, South Africans like Steve Hofmeyr have not been so forgiving.

STEVE HOFMEYR SLAMS DIS-CHEM AGAIN

After an internal memo by Dis-Chem caused waves in the country, Steve Hofmeyr and his son Devon mobilised a boycott amongst their followers.

Steve revealed that he wouldn’t be shopping at Dis-Chem’s competitor Clicks either.

He shared in a Facebook post: “I am 100% on board a Dischem boycott. But don’t think I think my pills at Clicks are a more ethical offer.

“Have you forgotten how high they jumped for the EFF over one innocent shampoo advert? I wonder what businesses out there are not subject to the same SEB rating as Dis-Chem? But it’s our job as victims of race politics IN THE 21ST EU (unbelievable) to proactively combat it”.

Steve has since revealed that he’s officially done with Dis-Chem after collecting his final prescription.

He also admonished the business over its BEE practises.

He shared: “I have made such good friends over the years at Dischem. White or black was NEVER a question until their boss reminded me this month that whites are inferior in his eyes.

“Here I walk out for the last time with my original prescription. There are other pharmacies exempt from derogatory virtue signaling and partisan race policies.

Steve compared Dis-Chem’s “sick ideology” to the race debate surrounding Fish Hoek High School in the Western Cape.

He added: “They want to make kids less racist with more racism, cite whites as villains, and give scholars nice new sex ideas to shorten their boredom. This is exactly what Critical Race Theory and Critical Gender Theory are. Good luck with that”.
