It was a happy occasion at OR Tambo on Tuesday morning following Banyana Banyana’s homecoming, and not even notorious artist Rasta could rain on the parade after he produced a portrait of coach Desiree Ellis

The Zimbabwean-born artist – whose real name is Lebani Sirenje – was present to hand over his work to the woman hailed for the success of the team.

Banyana Banyana received a hero’s welcome following their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) victory on Saturday.

RASTA PAINTS PRESENTS PORTRAIT OF DESIREE ELLIS

Joining the bustling crowd was Rasta, who was front and centre to meet Banyana Banyana and their coach Desiree Ellis.

And the infamous artist brought along a gift too – a portrait of the coach and former player.

In Rasta’s impression, Desiree Ellis is seen wearing the green Banyana Banyan jersey whilst cradling the WAFCON trophy.

TWEEPS ARE CONFUSED

But whilst Rasta came with good intentions, Twitter users mocked the artist for his efforts.

In fact, many tweeps claimed they spotted the likeness of many celebrities in the pic bar Desiree Ellis herself, including the likes of Naledi Pandor, DJ Fresh, Connie Chiume, Steven Seagal, Lionel Richie, and even the late ANC stalwarts Jackson Mthembu and Jessie Duarte.
