Not its first rodeo

While many are surprised by the strange combo, this is not the first time it’s been done. A MacDonald’s in China first announced that they would be doing the Orea Spam burger.

The burger consists of Spam (a kind of lunchmeat) and crushed Oreos.

Not long after the announcement, YouTube was bombarded with videos of how people can prepare the Oreo Spam burger at home.

“The flavorful and crispy Oreo, is a snack youngsters are familiar with. By creatively combining the two foods, it doesn’t only showcase the collision of tastes and textures, it is also quite topical socially,” said Abbie Xie, communications manager of McDonald’s in China in a CNN Travel article.
