South Africa’s biggest TV and theatre comedy stars chuckle their way to Wimbledon this November for a show that’s not to be missed.

Comedians gearing up for Cape

With just a few weeks to go, the New Wimbledon Theatre prepares to play host once again to some of the Rainbow Nation’s brightest stars.  Alan Committie and Tumi Morake, South Africa’s leading female comic, will be joined by Siv Ngesi, Ndumiso Lindi and Kagiso Mokgadi for a night of whoops and cheers.

Each ticket holder will be entered into a special prize draw – the winner will be announced on stage during the Saturday performance.  The winners will be treated to a holiday of a lifetime in Cape Town, including return flights and accommodation. The prize includes VIP tickets to the jive Cape Town Funny Festival 2016, and an overnight stay at the amazing Aquila private game reserve.

For South Africans living in the UK, and their friends and families, this is show not to be missed. Star Tumi Morake teased, “You’ve run away from us, but fine, we will bring the comedy to you, just to make you feel warm and back at home again”, and MC Alan Committie can’t wait to return to the New Wimbledon stage, for what will be his third appearance at the theatre in the last few years, “I am really looking forward to returning to this space and meeting the wonderful audiences again”.

The man behind the Funny Festival in both London and Cape Town, Eddy Cassar, commented: “Cape Town is a comedic city. Its people have used humour for years to cope with difficult situations. This show celebrates the city’s diversity and promotes it in a novel manner, showcasing Cape Town’s cultural tapestry. The show aims to entertain homesick South Africans and to market Cape Town as a beautiful, safe and interesting city to Londoners”.

The Cape Town Funny Festival in London plays at the New Wimbledon Theatre on the 20th and 21st November.

The show is produced by The Funny Festival Ltd, a jointly formed production company that is a partnership between Eddy Cassar Public Relations based in Cape Town and E3 Production Ltd based in Brighton / London.
