A Reddit user by the name, AlexyShved1, completely fooled his professor into thinking Wakanda is a real country.

The student had to give a presentation in his international marketing class and decided to do it on the economic power struggles of a little African nation called Wakanda, aka the fictional country of Wakanda as depicted in the hit-film Black Panther.

According to Alexy, the professor later asked about the presentation, and he told her “that the entire class was in on the joke and she thought it was funny.”

Alexy said:

“Basically she as super curious and believed it the entire time up until the part where the guy in the back told her it was a tragedy that she hadn’t heard of it. At that point, she didn’t want to believe it but I kept going on and she didn’t think I would’ve put so much effort into a fake country. She was skeptical at parts, but really just kept believing it. She’s also the type of person who only watches tennis on TV so she had no clue what Black Panther was until we told her about the movie shortly afterwards.”

The user decided to do a huge presentation on Black Panther’s King T’Challa, his arrival to the throne and his disappearance after he noticed his professors’ keen “interest”.

“I mentioned Wakanda the day before jokingly and she questioned it, so I offered to do a presentation about the country and their power struggle. She was incredibly excited to learn about a country she had never heard of so I gave this.”

Many users on the site went on about how “cool” the presentation was and some said that the professor might have just “played along.”

One said: “Great presentation, very informative. Keep it up and I see a full scholarship to MCU in the future!”

Others said “Hey, a power struggle is a power struggle. Just because it’s made up doesn’t mean it’s not interesting!”
