If you’re serious about collecting the Checkers Little Shop full range, you’ll know just how difficult it is to find all 24 items.

The leading retailer is running its third installment of the popular mini-collectibles promotion, but South Africans are struggling to collect the series.

There is a way around it though…

SWOPPING YOUR CHECKERS LITTLE SHOP MINI-COLLECTABLES

The Checkers Little Shop promotion – which is made from recycled materials – comes in a variety of well-loved brands like All Gold Tomato Sauce, OMO washing powder, Baby Soft toilet paper, Huggies Gold nappies, Tastic Rice, and many more.

For every R200 spent in Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Checkers Foods, and via the Sixty60 app, consumers receive one mini-collectible.

However, due to their concealed packaging, it’s difficult to predict which item you will receive – leading many SA consumers to collect duplicates.

To solve this issue, most Checkers offer their consumers the opportunity to swap their repeats at weekly pop-up in-store stands.

BUY A COLLECTABLE YOU DON’T HAVE

If that doesn’t help, there are several “swap and sell” Checkers Little Shop 3 groups on Facebook, which will happily lend a hand- at a small fee.

On Facebook Marketplace or even on Gumtree, consumers are happy to swap items, provided you live nearby or are willing to fit the bill of postage.

If you’re willing to buy a mini-collective from another prospective seller – which seems to be a lucrative market – you can expect to pay between R10 – R50 for an in-demand item.

According to Business Insider, many South Africans are also using these forums to sell the Checkers Little Shop version 1 and 2.

The publication reports: “In theory, you can pay R800 for a full set of both the first and second generation or up to R550 for just a Little Shop 2 full set. There is also a job lot of minis at around R16 a piece – if you are willing to pay R1,000 for the collection of 61”.
