The American business magazine, Forbes recently released its latest ‘Highest-Paid Actresses of 2019 list’ where SA’s Charlize Theron came in at number nine.

While The Avengers‘ Scarlett Johansson tops Forbes‘ list of the highest-paid actresses, earning $56 million for the second year in a row, Theron took the number nine spot with $23 million (that’s a whopping R350 million!)

Charlize’s recent projects include a new Netflix series, Hyperdrive where she posed as the executive producer. One of her new films, Bombshell is also set to hit theatres in December.

According to Forbes, these estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders. All figures are pretax; fees for agents, managers, and lawyers (generally 10%, 15% and 5%, respectively) are not deducted. Together, the world’s ten highest-paid actresses tallied a combined $314.6 million between June 2018, and June 2019, before fees and taxes.

Digital Spy further reported that this year’s Top 10 looks a little different from last year’s list, with the likes of Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, and Angelina Jolie being knocked out of the running with more TV stars coming in to rake in the big bucks.
