Celebrities from all over the world took to social media to congratulate the Springboks on their win over England in the Rugby World Cup final.

Celerbtities all over the world have congratulated the Springboks on their amazing win over England this past weekend.

One of these celebrities includes Roger Federer, who has voiced his support for the Springboks in the past.

Celebrities react to Springboks being crowned World Rugby champions

The sport star’s mother is South African so the win does kind of hit close to home for him. Federer also did mention in the past that he is backing South Africa for the Rugby World Cup win, even though he does not know that much about rugby.

Federer said:

“Siya, I couldn’t be more happy for you and the team. What a victory…what an amazing team effort. You guys spent so much time together and you ended up with the big win. I was watching it. I was following it. I was on the side of the street watching the end. Anyway, many congratulations.”

South Africa’s very own superstar comedian, Trevor Noah also took to Twitter to voice his support:

He said:

“To say we’re proud would be an understatement. Congrats to a team that many wrote off just a year ago. Our captain took criticism from all sides but today, the Springboks are back on top of the world. Well done Bokke. You have made us all proud.”

The Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron also sent her love and support to the team and the country by saying:

“Sending so much love to these guys for a hard fought and well-deserved #RWC win. CONGRATULATIONS Springboks – you’ve done our country proud!”

Britain’s Prince Harry, who was there to attend the game, also congratulated the Bokke and shared a picture of the himself sharing a hug with president Cyril Ramaphosa after SA’s win.

Prince Harry said:

“Tonight was not England’s night, but the whole nation is incredibly proud of what @EnglandRugby have achieved over the past few months. Hold your heads high boys, you did an outstanding job and we couldn’t have asked more from you.

“To the whole of South Africa – rugby unites all of us in more ways than we can imagine, and tonight I have no doubt that it will unite all of you.”

Lesley-Ann Brandt from the hit-series Lucifer took to Twitter to share her thoughts.

The South African-born actress said:

“Never underestimate a South African with a goal. We are determined AF.”
